- ➤ Community members, students and coaches asked Olympia City Council on March 4 to help keep Evergreen pool open past its planned June closure so that vital swim programs and public safety training can continue. City Manager Jay Burney said he would contact college officials to clarify funding and repair needs. JOLT
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The school district proclaimed March 9 to 13 as Education Support Professionals Week to honor 700 support staff, including aides, nurses, drivers and admin personnel. The board read the proclamation on Feb. 26. JOLT
