- ➤ Today in Thurston County, a Community Resource Fair in Tumwater from 12 to 2 p.m. and free tax preparation in Lacey from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. offer residents valuable services—connecting them with local agencies and nonprofits. Saturday will feature kindergarten readiness sessions, a habitat restoration work party, an open house with free dance lessons in Olympia, a mental health workshop in Tumwater, family fun at Frog Hollow continuing until April 19, and registration for a rappelling challenge event in Lacey open until June 28. - ➤ North Thurston Public Schools offers four choice school options for students who need different learning experiences—Aspire Performing Arts Academy for middle school arts, Envision Career Academy for high school career and technical education, Ignite Family Academy for K-8 at-home learning, and Summit Virtual Academy for fully online classes. - ➤ Today, the City of Olympia signed on to a PayByPhone Meters for Trees initiative that will convert parking meters to tree planting projects. The program will remove 724 meters to save over $18,000 a year and 300 staff hours while planting 217 trees in 2025—supporting the city’s environmental efforts. ThurstonTalk

- ➤ Thurston County and partner cities launched the Energize Thurston campaign that will offer discounts, instant rebates and customer support for electric heat pump installations from March to June. Eligible residents, including those at or below 120% of the area median income who may cover 80-100% of costs, must attend in-person or virtual workshops to sign up and learn more. ThurstonTalk
- ➤ The City of Olympia identified 28,000 unique sidewalk issues along 226 miles of streets and contracted a walk-based firm to log each problem using mapping technology in its ADA accessibility plan. ADA coordinator Tobi Hill-Meyer presented details on March 19—more data will be shared in May as the city advances its digital accessibility efforts. JOLT
