GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Today the Olympia City Council is considering selling the Lee Creighton Justice Center campus to the Squaxin Island Tribe for $8,200,000 with discussions set for Tuesday, April 8. The city will have full use of the 10.7-acre property for 18 months until the tribe takes over in December and plans to finalize the sale on or before June 4 (the aging facility no longer meets court needs). HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Thurston County Public Health and Social Services started Project SAFER to help first responders and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities interact safely with emergency services—this program aims to teach both sides how to work better together. The free roundtable discussion will be held at Olympia High School on May 21 with online RSVP due by May 16. ThurstonTalk
