Good morning, Olympia. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 11th of April.

COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Patricia Lee-Jenkins, founder of The Hare BnB Rescue Spa & Boutique in Olympia, warned potential bunny owners to research rabbit care before adopting an Easter bunny. She said rabbits need a long-term commitment, regular grooming, and expensive veterinary care — factors that often lead to abandoned pets after the holiday.  ThurstonTalk
  • Set for April 12 and April 13, Olympia’s home and garden show will be held at the St. Martin’s Marcus Pavilion at Lacey with over 100 vendors and discounted tickets for military and seniors. The event will include a free Lego Brick Building Competition for kids with limited spots — adding a fun feature for local families — and is expected to draw about 2,000 visitors over the weekend.  JOLT
