- ➤ The Olympia City Council designated April as Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month on Tuesday, Apr. 14, urging community agencies (schools, religious organizations, law enforcement, health care providers, and businesses) to work together to protect children from abuse. - ➤ Columbia Street between 5th and 7th avenues will be closed on Sunday, Apr. 19 from 7 a.m. to noon and Monday, Apr. 20 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for asphalt work on crosswalks at Legion Way — detours are set and businesses remain open. JOLT
