- ➤ TOGETHER! and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington have joined forces for the BIG Swing TOGETHER Fore Kids Tournament — a golf event set for August 21 at Tumwater Valley Golf Course in Tumwater — to raise funds that support local youth programs. ThurstonTalk

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Saint Martin’s University in Lacey launched the Saints Mentor with Heart program (a peer mentoring initiative) last fall to pair first-year students with upperclassmen mentors and help them navigate campus life. - ➤ At its May 20 meeting, the Olympia City Council declared May as Heritage Month to honor the work of historic preservation that boosts local culture & economy.
