- ➤ Olympia Tumwater Foundation will host a 1950s garden party at the historic Schmidt House on August 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to raise funds for local student scholarships and the youth music program — tickets cost $125 each — and guests will enjoy live music and local food. ThurstonTalk
- ➤ Arleen Crooks dedicated her life to helping people in Olympia—she moved here in 1958 and worked with groups like Meals on Wheels, the Thurston County Food Bank, and Westminster Presbyterian Church to serve seniors, refugees, and children. - ➤ The Pope John Paul II High School girls track and field team won the state title at the 2025 WIAA Gesa Credit Union State Championships, marking their second win in three years — led by sophomore Ruby Henry defending her titles in the 1600m and 3200m.
