Founders Jason and Nancy Zhai started the chain in Bellevue in 2014 and are expanding to meet growing demand in the South Sound area — the new restaurant will offer their signature Q-Bao and Xiao Long Bao. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Olympia School District has opened registration for summer classes for high school students and is accepting teacher recommendations for elementary students; the high school program will run from July 7 to Aug. 14 with online lessons and in-person tests at Olympia Regional Learning Academy—elementary classes will take place from July 7 to 24 at Roosevelt and Garfield Elementary Schools with free lunch provided. - ➤ The Olympia City Council approved a $20.5 million bond sale on Tuesday, June 17 to fund the expansion of the Hands On Children's Museum and cover a $1.5 million payment for a new property from the Port of Olympia; the project will add 15,000 square feet (new galleries, restrooms and a lobby) to help ease overcrowding. The financing plan uses Public Facilities District funds and a 30-year bond term with careful revenue projections to secure the museum’s future growth. JOLT
