Downtown Olympia businesses partner with local bank OlyFed to boost the local economy by reinvesting deposits in community projects—supporting events like a Reeves Middle School scavenger hunt that engaged 155 students and funding local nonprofits.

During Lakefair, Charlie’s Bar & Grill in downtown Olympia will host rock concerts at 7 p.m. on July 18 and 19 with Hell’s Belles performing on July 18 and Nite Wave on July 19—both shows are 21-and-over and require tickets.

On July 8, the Olympia City Council approved a 30-year bond package worth $26.57 million to fund the long-planned Yelm Highway Community Park and Phase 1 renovations at the historic Armory Arts Center.

The park project will start early next year with new sports and community features — while the arts center will undergo critical upgrades to secure state grants — with funding coming from the VUT, OMPD levy, and an NVUT extension.
