On Friday, July 11, the Thurston Regional Planning Council unanimously approved the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan without the Log Cabin Road connection and directed a review of alternatives for LBA Park connectivity—Olympia Council member Dani Madrone said the study will examine options like a multi-use path through the park. The decision is expected to free up about $10 million for other transportation priorities while shifting traffic to nearby roads like Yelm Highway.

The Olympia Dragon Boat festival will be held at Olympia Port Plaza on July 19 to feature its second annual dragon boat racing event.
