  • Evergreen Christian School in Olympia has expanded its Early Learning Program to include preschool for children as young as 2—opening enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year—and offers a curriculum that supports academic and social growth.  ThurstonTalk
  • Selyse, a recent Nisqually Middle graduate, said her experience at TOGETHER! Club House—where the ARBOL curriculum helps students explore their diverse heritage—boosted her confidence as she prepared for high school. Funding for the program, which was scheduled to be released on July 1 but remains on hold by the Office of Management and Budget, now risks cutting off vital support for students and families.  ThurstonTalk

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Olympia City Council sent the union-backed Workers' Bill of Rights initiative to the November ballot after a 4—3 vote rejected immediate adoption on July 22. The measure would require a $20 minimum wage and new labor protections—city staff will form review committees on Aug. 4 to prepare voter information.  JOLT
