ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The start date for the Brawne Avenue Water Quality Retrofit Project was moved from Aug. 18 to Sept. 8 and will run until mid-October. The project will cut suspended solids from a 55-acre basin at West Bay Park—construction may lead to trail closures, noise, and minor traffic delays.  JOLT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Olympia City Council is weighing a 0.1% sales tax increase to support public safety—this tax will raise the rate from 9.8% to 9.9% and help unlock state grant funding for police and other services.
