- ➤ Boo Bash at the Hands On Children's Museum will run from Oct. 25 to 31 and gives families fun with a glow zone, straw bale maze, and live demos from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.—it also features sensory sessions on Oct. 25 and 26 and a Monster of Scare-Emonies contest with prizes for children. JOLT

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Seasonally operated campgrounds in Olympic National Forest have begun closing for the 2025 summer season — with closure dates set from September 22 to December 1 and several sites already closed. Visitors should plan ahead since all campgrounds except Collins are cashless, with payments available via credit or debit at on-site self-service stations or through the Recreation.gov mobile app. ThurstonTalk

- ➤ The Fones Road Corridor Project in Olympia will resume nighttime work on Monday, Sept. 22 as crews finish water and power conversions this week and begin installing a new water main—Motorists are urged to take alternate routes while Puget Sound Energy converts the electrical system underground. - ➤ On Tuesday, September 16th, the Olympia City Council discussed plans to change tenant screening rules to help low-income residents, immigrants, and people of color by considering new income caps and alternatives for Social Security numbers—survey results and fair housing guidelines shaped proposals on credit, criminal, and rental history checks.
