- ➤ Many events are planned this weekend in Thurston County — the Sale For All Seasons Bazaar in Olympia is held today and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with handcrafted items and free parking, the Harvest Festival in Olympia is on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with crafts and live music, the South Sound Optimism Walk in Lacey begins on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Death Disco runs in Olympia on Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Talking Headstones is scheduled for Tumwater on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. JOLT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Olympia City Council approved appointments to the new Community Policing Board on Sept. 30 to review police policies and investigate officer-involved incidents. Lisa Ostler, Robin Rosen-Evans, and Anita Kraft filled the new seats after a selection process that began in May with 25 applications and seven candidates interviewed in August — expanding the board’s duties from the former Police Use of Force Events Board.
