Thurston County’s Community Sustaining Fund is accepting fall 2025 grant applications for creative community projects until Nov.
10—this program has awarded over $200,000 to more than 200 local groups since 1987.
🌲 Environment
Port of Olympia released results from sediment analysis showing that while surface layers in East Bay are cleaner, deeper layers remain contaminated—especially at Moxley Creek, the navigation channel, and Swantown Marina & Boatworks.
The port collected 1,100 samples from over 100 locations in January and will continue testing through 2026 to guide its cleanup plan.
