Hands On Children's Museum is a popular spot for families due to Blippi videos that helped draw 264,688 visitors recently and generate a $12 million economic boost.
The museum will expand to a 45,000 square feet facility (reduced from earlier plans) with design completed by summer 2026 and construction running from November 2026 through December 2027 (opening in early 2028).
South Puget Sound Community College announced that former Lacey Mayor Mark O.
Brown was appointed to its Board of Trustees by Gov. Bob Ferguson and will serve from Nov. 7 through Sept. 30. Brown said he is honored to join the board and brings decades of state and local government experience—serving on roles such as the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Transition Team.
