Sewing and Craft Night at OlyMEGA Makerspace

About this event

We are members of OlyMEGA, (Olympia Makers, Engineers, Geeks, and Artists) who meet every fourth Friday to create things out of fabric, thread, yarn or other craft materials. Have a project you want to finish? Bring it along and socialize as you work on it. Want to learn how to use a sewing machine? Come learn on ours.

We have a few sewing machines and now have a serger to learn on. We will have available second-hand sourced fabric pieces that are good for small projects and practicing new skills. Embroidery floss will be available as well as small embroidery hoops and needles for on-site use or can be purchased at cost.

Some of the disciplines we work in are:

Darning Embroidery: machine and hand Learning small clothing repairs: buttons, patches, gussets Identifying fabric fiber content Laser cutting Inkscape for preparing pictures for laser cutting and etching
