About this event
We celebrate Lucia, Bearer of Light, a person who understood their vocation of care for others, stayed true to their calling and commitment, was a force for Good, and fitting well with PLU’s mission statement: to educate students for lives of thoughtful inquiry, service, leadership, and care for other people, for their communities and for the Earth.
You can read more about the history of Sankta Lucia at: https://www.plu.edu/scancenter/scholarships/
PLU Students who wish to apply for the Lucia honorarium are required to submit an essay (essay topic is on the application form) and have a personal interview with the Lucia committee. Students are also welcome to participate in the Sankta Lucia Festival if they choose not to submit the essay (but will not be considered for the honorarium). Please join us for this fun annual event!
Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to Trinity Lutheran's Community Food Pantry.
